Finally, a good illustration of something that "is both a particle and a wave"! 🤯

I’m intrigued how the pilot wave theory explains when detectors are placed at the slits the interference pattern stops.

Sogondi :
Pilot wave delegates the uncertainty into an "unknown" variable in our inherent need to satisfy determinism. But it's inconsistent with the scientific method of adjusting beliefs upon evidence.

Braeden :
so if the universe isn’t deterministic at a quantum level, and we are all made up of particles which have a random function, do we actually have free will?

Anton Kravchenko :
Pilot wave seems intuitively to be the answer

That’s gravity. The surface of the oil is the same as the earth and we are the droplets. The standing wave is earth’s gravity

this only deepens my theory that vibes are real... vibrations are in fact real. I suppose that wasn't totally up for debate though

How about Bell's theorem then?

1. If you were to accept the oil as a legitimate model of the quantum, what is the medium that quantum particles are bouncing in creating observable waves?

I would except theory that explains that vibration, which causes droplet to behave unnatural. Who or what creates that unseen energy. Especially in regards of quantum theory.

So in a double slit context the pilot wave would have to travel faster than light to affect the photon?

Imagine if you gave someone 10 digits of Pi, but from a random decimal location. It would appear totally unpredictable to them. I believe quantum behavior is like this, just non-rational answers

So I just learned that a photon does not experience time, it’s at its starting and ending point in 0 time. Seems like that fits in here somewhere

if they are creating similar results then surely both theory's have merit to the same conclusion you could say gravitational waves could be this on a galactic scale.

How nihilistic it may sound I'm really comfortable with a determined universe... It only seems logical... in math the difference between the past and the future is non-existing... (1/2)

This kind of reminds me of how people speculate that UFOs can like warp the space around them to propel themselves through it. Like the pilot waves and the droplet is the UFO if that makes sense.
