@livjowen: Naptime is a big part of our day, but I do not want it to be a negative experience for either of us. So I give a 2-5min time warning before it’s Naptime. Then, when time’s up, I get down on his level and explain that we’ve had a great time playing, but now it’s time to go lay down. I give him the option of either walking by himself or I can carry him. This helps him to feel that we’re on the same team, and he gets to help decide how he wants to do it 🙂 Instead of talking about how sad it is to go to sleep, I aim to shift his perspective to be happy and excited to lay down. I want him to think of Naptime as a good and positive experience, rather than something that he dreads.
