Not an easy start to a Saturday morning rummaging around for puppies in a hole by the main road. 🥘 Some kind locals had left out food and water for these dogs. ☂️ someone had even brought 2 umbrellas to help give them shade in their little hole they were living in. 🐕 It’s unclear where mum is. A local builder and a tourist have seen her but thinks she has been scared off either intentionally or by loud construction work in the area. We’ll be back to get her sterilised if she is still around. 🛻 The big danger here was the road. These puppies wouldn’t have lasted more than 2-3 days with that busy road just feet from them. 🦷 The first one walked into my hands. The second was a little harder as she tried to hide back in the hole. The 3rd one was nearly impossible. Even with 50% of me in the hole I couldn’t reach. You have to blindly reach in hoping not to get bitten by their razor teeth and hopefully get a leg or the tail. It’s not nice hearing them scream but the alternative is to leave them there which is a non runner. 😴 They are fairly healthy but as soon as I got them to @wearehappydoggo they wanted to sleep. All huddled together. I get the sense the street living has been incredibly tough for them. The one thing that melts my heart is that at such a young age and so scared or everything they rely on the only thing they have…each other. 🥰 We got them young enough that they won’t be traumatized or antisocial. These little babies will be cuddly friendly dogs by tomorrow. Saved just in time 🙏 #dogs #puppies #doglover
