@righteouseats: I was introduced to Jimmy’s by @jbrancaccio of @brancaccios_food_shop which is arguably my favorite sandwich house in NYC. When I asked Joe about his go-to spot, he didn’t hesitate: “Jimmy’s is the Charlie Parker of sandwich joints. And the rest of us are just trying to be Charlie Parker.” ...that’s a bar. Yo, walking into @jimmysfamousheros, I found the owner, Victor, on his hands and knees scrubbing the floor. Now 62, he has worked at Jimmy’s since he was 15, eventually taking over from the original owners, Jimmy and Margaret. From chef to janitor, he tackles every role with equal parts pride and passion, which allows this Sheepshead Bay cornerstone to continue its legacy since the 1940s. In a world where shortcuts are common, Victor’s dedication to quality and his love for the community are why this sandwich joint has endured. #sandwich #brooklyn
