Hear this out. The manufacturer don’t put grease there. So I don’t put grease there. And miraculously it don’t make noise like a greasy one 😉

they get jammed because rust builds up under the shims. grease keeps moisture out. no moisture=no rust

I clean the bracket first then grease it apply NEW HARDWARE then more grease and then the pads 26 year ASE MECHANIC

I don’t do it for rust I do it so the pads move smooth with the slide pins I also greased and made sure were sealed

I put it behind the tab...thats what ya do.. file down rust. grease, put on clip.

those pads were clearly not regularly serviced. at work and on my own personal vehicles, regular servicing with proper brake lubricant will keep them sliding freely

Only place I put lub is on the sliders which are seal with the rubber boots, no where else cause of that reason, collects dirt and grim, waste of time
