I definitely understand why it is perceived that way but you have to remember that contextually events in the Bible took place in Africa and the continent of Asia (the Middle East)

Christianity, even in places that weren't colonized too much such as japan, caught on like wildfire at the time. It makes me think that black conversion wasnt JUST top down force. I could be wrong tho

Unless you were Ethiopian, Egyptian, (for the most part) yes it was a imposition but there was a period at the beginning of slavery where black people were stopped from converting due to a clause in

Christianity was forced onto everyone by the Roman's including the pagan Europeans then Islam was forced onto Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt and all the parts where Arabs conquer

Slaves were taught, TAUGHT, Christianity in order to give them the Idea that if they obeyed and suffered, that they would be welcomed to a wonderful afterlife. Thus an obedient slave. Period.

so you’re correct Christianity was used as a way in America to give hope to the African slaves because if they had hope they would still work and then they had certain slaves become pastors to preach the good word to the other slaves to be a good slave do you not realize how the Bible is full of slavery and how to be a good slave?

I practice Christianity because when Jesus was here that's all we had but slowly with time other beliefs came about but I believe slaves studied it as well I'll have to read more into it
