@heatherkarra: More about my story👇 My hair journey has taken years. If you’re new here, I started having issues with hair loss in 2016. And here’s what I realized. I needed to do better at caring for myself. 🤍 I had dandruff, buildup, heat damage, & those awful hairs along my hairline you see sticking up? I used to straighten the crap out of my hair and that’s where the most damage was.😳 My dermatologist told me that my hair loss was caused by my migraine medicine. It was weird bc I had taken it for literally a decade and not had any issues. It just goes to show that hair loss can be triggered by many things and at any time! Other than that, my dermatologist simply advised me to take care of my scalp & figure out the migraines. I pretty much had to learn along the way. Here’s what I changed. 💛 Address stress. Find an outlet and a way to unwind. I know it’s hard, but you can do it! 🫶 💛 Regular exercise. I honestly think this is what helped my migraines & stress I was able to stop taking my migraine medicine years ago, thankfully. BUT, In the December of 2023 I took a month off going to the gym. And just last week I felt a migraine coming on… so this week I’m back in the gym regularly! 💛 Scalp care. ⭐️ This one has really changed my hair. I now do regular hair oiling and massages & my hair is so much happier. For a long time I used anti-dandruff shampoos and now I’ve found I no longer need them since doing my scalp care treatments. 🥰 I have more haircare tips, recommendations, & share what I do for my hair on my page @thickhair_vibes ✨ This page started as just a place to share my hair journey.
