My Grandmother taught me to sew. She worked as a seamstress in NY after immigrating from Jamaica. She made me rip out seams until I got it right. I feel her every time I get out my machine. 💔🥲

My Big Mama made her clothes too. She would go to dress shops and look at latest dresses, come home and make patterns from memory and make her dresses. Passed on talent to my dad as well. 💕

My paternal grandmother worked as a seamstress for “ weather tamer “ making coats. Hot fuzzy winter coats in summer , light weight thin jackets for spring in the cold winter.
