@mashelesiya: After 6 weeks of training with @skhindigangcoaching I decided to enter @crossthelinehalfmarathon 10km with the goal improve my 10km splits. @coach_vongs and I went in with the plan of completing it in 40mins. I was debating on whether to start with a sub 4mins pace for the first km, but I decided to fall back and cruise on a 4:01 pace. I maintained the same pace for 3kms and and started to relax at 4km running at 4:14 pace till 6kms. From 7km, I went back to my 4mins 03secs pace for the last 3kms. I finished the course in 41mins 08secs, 1mins 08secs shy from my target. A FEW POINTER’s TO TAKE HOME: •I had really good and well maintained splits. •New 10km PB ( From 43mins to 41mins) 2 minutes improvement. •Top 12 overall finisher for a 10km 🥳 •Having a coach is a game changer. •Tempo and Speed sessions are key 🔐 I can’t wait for the next challenge. But for now, it’s back to training for another 6 weeks.
