I think them 3800’s are notorious for them little plastic elbows breaking off due to the heating and cooling down they should’ve used metal for them

Good ole coolant elbows. The scary part is that if it's still got the cover and plastic elbows I guarantee the lower intake gaskets are original and shot.

I'm sure you know, but, they make a metal replacement for those parts. I had to do one in college and on a personal vehicle. super common failure. some would argue it's dex-cools fault 😂

common failure on the 3800 series, literally just replaced my coolant elbows with the aluminum updated ones!
