If you’re a smaller org, having stuff like DHCP, PXE, File storage, print, is okay. Anything over 50 people, split it up. Have your physical machine run hyper-v and spin up your different servers. IMO

Do you have any tips for having a dc and using ad-block home as dns for that dc?

My thoughts is Server Core is best for hyperv. You can control through MGMT tools elsewhere. I'd want my DC to have gui so I can troubleshoot better if need be.

For a PDC no. For child DC’s lightweight stuff like dns / dhcp meh? File and print services NO NO.

Dns is going to be there by default in most cases once a DC is promoted.

So, basically on the DC, is just for DC? Print server, file server, dhcp dns services on other server and not DC? Is it the same for enterprise company?

If you’re doing Active Directory based Activation for Office, you have to have your KMS on your DC, along with some other addons.
