Wait - you’re not meant to turn an isolation valve off cos they’ll leak? So what is the point in them? I’ve always turned mine on and off when doing DIY 😩

I've got quite high pressure and my issue is that the tap doesn't work until a half turn then it shoots out splashing everywhere. Any suggestions? Thanks
