@washingtonpost: The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, announced Monday that after reviewing evidence of Hamas’s Oct. 7 attacks and Israel’s subsequent war in Gaza, he requested the ICC issue arrest warrants against five top-ranking Israeli and Hamas leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But the ultimate decision on whether to grant any of the arrest warrants rests with judges in the ICC’s Pre-Trial Chamber. The ICC’s prosecutor, Karim Khan, said he was also seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as two other top Hamas leaders — Mohammed Diab Ibrahim al-Masri, the leader of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades and better known as Mohammed Deif; and Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s political leader. President Biden slammed the International Criminal Court’s decision on Monday to seek to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials, calling the applications “outrageous.”
