15 year old Oso was rescued by Pep’s Pals Rescue today, and we truly wish we had better news. We hoped he could have enjoyed his final days, months, or however long he might have had if recovery were possible. He collapsed outside of the shelter on his way out & had to be carried to the car. His eyes were crusted shut and he was struggling to breathe & walk. When he arrived at Dallas Animal Urgent Care, his condition was so severe that he was moved from 5th to 1st in line and rolled in on a gurney because he couldn't walk and was struggling to breathe. X-rays revealed one of the worst cases of lung cancer the vet had ever seen, along with a severe case of heartworms. His lungs were basically filled with a massive tumor that was making it very difficult for him to breathe. We had to do what was best for him and made the difficult decision to send him over the rainbow bridge. McKenna, our amazing friend who runs the “Advocates for the Animals at Greenville Animal Control Shelter” Facebook page, gave Oso his freedom ride and comforted & loved on him while he crossed over. Thank you so so much for being there for him. 🩷 We wish Oso knew how many people around the world cared about him and wanted to give him a happily furever after. We wanted that for him. So badly. He deserved that. He went over the rainbow bridge just a little bit ago. Rest in paradise sweet Oso, we wish things could’ve been SO different for you. You will have an amazing time in doggy heaven.
