My husband is currently going for an amputation due to a lawn mower accident when he was 5 ❤️the reconstruction caused him pain and walking on his toes (similar to you) caused compartment syndrome in the same leg to form 3 years ago. February 3rd, 2026 he will be on his new journey with one less leg. Your page has been nothing short of helpful ❤️

I broke my ankle… 10 surgeries later, I can walk with a walkerfor a bit, but mostly a wheelchair. Trying to decide if amputation would be better.

Was it difficult to find a doctor willing to amputate? From my own experience it's often hard to convince doctors your pain is worth radical treatment. Glad you were able to do what's right for you!

Do you feel this was the best choice? I’ve had 9 reconstructive surgeries 6 within 5 years on my ankle. The pain is still unbearable. Every doctor thinks they can fix it. I want it off.

I got told todau I’ve got Charcot on n my left foot. We’re trying a boot for a year. Most likely at some point I’ll have to have it amputated. I’m not ready. So happy your page got to my #fyp.
