Ok so let’s say this design get s past the drawing board for arguments sake. First making this alone would be super expensive designing new systems and features for this is going to be really expensive and who would buy that? Planes are safer than ever anyway so it wouldn’t be used much anyway. this video shows it catching a plane with one engine damaged. This is not a problem for present planes as they can fly such. This is a problem because this minimal damage is about the most this design can handle for example that b717 crash where the elevator was broken and the plane nose dived and crashed. There is no way this design can save such a problem. Even if this design was actually needed for a specific problem. There is no way it could get off the ground and catch up on time. And having one in the air at all times is expensive and impractical. So I don’t see this working
