as a humane society worker - this. all of this. you will need to start from the bottom with potty training since the shelters are high stress no matter what we do, but theres a friend for everyone 1/2

absolutely agree! I favor adopting from rescue groups cuz they know more about any behavioral or health issues. I ONLY rescue senior pups😊

YES!!!! I have had two poodles (hypoallergenic) straight from shelters. We also had a rescue shih tzu. Wanting a specific breed or temperament isn’t a reason — they ALL exist at shelters!

Beautiful 💕🙏🏻🙂 my favorite show is Lucky Dog and he rescues shelter dogs, trains them for specific jobs or just to work well with the family and their hobbies and lifestyle, and gets them a home ❤

i have a rescue and he is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT to us and our family!! LOVES other dogs and people too, staffy mix, was scared in the beginning but the biggest sweetheart 🥺

10000%!!!! Agree with everything u said. I've had multiple friends who got dogs from breeders that developed behavioral probs/had to rehome for other issues. There are literally 0 reasons not to adopt

I absolutely agree!!! People are obsessed with breeder puppies but that’s so much more time consuming and frustrating than adopting an adult rescue dog.

I was told my rescue had a weak/bad left hip. I got her shortly having my own left hip surgery. We were rehab buddies. ☺️

i agree 1000%!! it can be a much better route for finding the perfect match versus purchasing a dog (trying to make a sale)

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! There’s also no guarantee that dogs from breeders won’t have behavioral issues. Rescues are so worth it 💕
