Yes, it can be joyful AND it’s way easier to feel this way if you have a lot of support, e.g., a nanny

YES TO THIS! It’s great we have the space to say it’s hard, but the joy is so much bigger. Also I find people are REALLY afraid to have kids because of all the discussion of what’s hard.

It’s so unbelievably hard, but I’ve never felt this type of joy, or this level of joy in my life. Sometimes my face hurts from smiling.. and sometimes it’s from crying but still 😂

I think both realities are obviously true. However, I think socioeconomic factors play a huge role in how much of that joy a person is able to access.

I think we all just have very different experiences in motherhood. And $$$ and privilege play a big role in that. Motherhood is incredibly joyous for me but damn, I’m exhausted, it is VERY hard work
