hi have a mk5 1.9 tdi BXJ did timing belt, but had no locking tool for crank shaft, but got to lock the cam wen it was at ish 1 a clock and so my question is can i move it to 12 with out any problem?

I always put idler roller in after fitting belt in place always found it easier to get belt on
