@stephanne221: Emotional neglect wounds are a reflection of the relationship that we have with ourselves. This relationship to our needs was role modeled by influential attachment figures in our life (parents, grandparents, teachers) and we learned to internalize it. We then grow up to be adults who respond to our own needs by attacking them, thus working AGAINST ourselves. This just so happens tends to breed a lot of self-hatred :/ Thankfully, this is a workable process. Meaning, it doesnt always have to be this way :) follow along if you want to heal your emotional neglect wounds 🤍 #adhd #disability #chronicillness #neurodivergent #emotionalneglect #neglect #healing #healingprocess #HealingJourney #attachmentstyle #therapy #therapytok #therapist #trauma #childhoodtrauma #cptsd #ptsd #SelfImprovement #selfgrowth #neurodivergent #MentalHealth #mentalhealthmatters #emotions #fyp #foryou
I am always afraid I am "in trouble" or "going to get yelled at" when I am resting, as an adult- just constantly on edge

This must be why whenever I need to do something, my brain always thinks of how hard everything will be instead of what I need to do to get it done…😔

I'm the divergent sibling, at almost 37yrs old, dude... when you said how we attack ourselves as adults, I broke down in tears. It validates my lifelong struggles of self-loathing TYSM 🥺

I wasnt diagnosed until I was an adult. Now, I’m parenting 2 neurodivergent kids. Hearing this, I realize that I’m still doing some of the same things to my kids at times. Time to break the cycle. 💜
