@flyswiss: Have you ever wondered how and when a brake is replaced? ✈️🛠️ When landing, the aircraft is brought to a stop by reversing the engine thrust and then applying the brakes on the main wheels at a high speed. During this manoeuvre, the carbon discs reach temperatures of up to 300°C. We replace the brakes before their power starts to diminish due to wear and tear.
