I work in a very different profession but that requires confidentiality a good rule of thumb is if they say hi first then it’s ok to engage but never acknowledge 1st

I remember in my first therapy session my therapist assured me he would never approach me first in public so I’d never be uncomfortable haha I feel bad for the first guy! But you were new :)
