I remember an old head chef I had, if we had been on longer than 6 hours and hadn't eaten a plate would be chucked on the designated staff table and we'd be dragged to sit down and eat 😂

when I worked in an Italian restaurant at 17 they always fed us at lunch and tea especially if we were on a start to close shift :) x

Blew my mind when I started working at a decent hotel, after working in a mildly abusive place for 5 years, and they told me if I was doing an breakfast shift I could get a breakfast made in my break

Still remember the one random shift the chefs decided to not feed me and I had to leave early cause I worked a 11 hour Saturday shift without eating and nearly passed out 😃👍

when we offer agency staff food they literally laugh out loud and ask if we are for real , then ask aleast 4 times if we mean it 🤣🤣🤣

So true 15 years in hospitality and my current job (1 year) always feed me wether I’m there 3 hours or 7 it took me a good 3/4 months to adjust to this. He gets offended if I don’t eat, and If I’ve not eaten before a certain time he’s concerned for my health 🤣

My old job was either the best or worst depending on the shift time. Breakfast and dinner got meals, day shift got crappy sandwiches that had been in the fridge all week 😭
