Thats the right way, instead of telling the customer its going to need another caliper n its an extra 100$+ 😂. Ppl already hardly want to pay for a normal job.

No shade also let them know don’t heat it to much because they will split the bracket if it gets to hot!

that's a good tip to save the boot! we also will un seize the pin. usually we get new boots when we can

At that point, I recommend guide pins and new boots.

Also alot of vehicles have a rubber sleeve on the inboard end of pin. That gets destroyed when you have to heat. So just get A new boot kit anyway

sometimes I would just heat the bracket from the front and it would shoot the slide pin out like a bottle rocket

I have had some pretty stuck slide pins but usually just use a screwdriver and hammer, but I also work in the south. Judging by minimal rust, you're southern based too?

I'll Figure It Out Later :
You can also remove the boot over the head of the pin depending on the size of course but I've done it a few times.
