I get embarrassed too when doing the speech testing in the sound booth! It is hard! Sometimes the words and sentences are so random and don’t make sense. Also the man’s voice in the recording is SO HARD FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND! His voice is soooo low! During this speech test I thought I was butchering it, but I ended up doing much better than I thought! In the words test I got 88% correct but at the phoneme level I got 97%. For the sentences test I got 93%. So if you are doing this test keep these things in mind: 1. The recording’s voice can be hard to understand and it isn’t an accurate representation of real life. 2. Do your best and if you’re not sure the word but you heard certain phonemes, still say those to get partial credit! 3. Understand that if you didn’t do as well in the sound booth, it could be due to a number of factors.
