@aikeigallery: Way Kambas National Park, Lampung is one of the oldest national parks in Indonesia which was founded in 1989. This park has existed since 1937 from the Dutch colonial era by the Resident of Lampung, Mr. Rookmaker, and followed by the Dutch Governor’s Decree dated January 26 1937 Stbl 1937 Number 38. Until finally it was officially founded in 1989. Containing Sumatran Elephants, Sumatran Tigers, Sumatran Rhinos, Sun Bears and Tapirs, this park, which covers an area of up to 1,300 square kilometers, is a center for training and preserving endangered animals. One of them is the Sumatran Elephant, which is now in the Way Kambas National Park with more than 30 tamed elephants, and more than 200 wild elephants in the Way Kambas Forest. Some of the elephants in this photo are Kartijah, the main star, because she was the first elephant and the one who gave birth to many elephants in Way Kambas. She is 43 years old and she’s called the ‘Kartininya gajah’. Meanwhile, the little one who is very active and likes to nudge me, is Siti, who weighs 80 kilograms even though she is only two months old. Going to Way Kambas made me gain a lot of new knowledge and how exciting it was to interact with the elephants there. Hopefully we can always preserve animals that should still exist and not become extinct. #videography #hunting #cinematic #traveling #tamannasionalwaykambas #waykambas #lampungtimur #lampung #indonesia
