for milk, if i’m unsure, i’ll put it in a clear glass and kinda swish it so it gets on the sides. you’ll see white flecks if it’s starting to sour. if not then you’re good

don't smell it in the cart. pour a little in a cup then smell it. sometimes milk gets dried on the outer ring and it can mix the smell 😭😭😭

esp with higher fat dairy like cream, i’ve had a few times where i couldn’t smell it but it tasted awful. so i pour a tiny bit in a glass (or dip ur pinkie in) and taste. if it tastes ok, it’s fine!✨✨

part of the reason I get lactose free milk is because it stays good for so much longer, helps with my food safety paranoia 💀 (that and finding out first hand that sour milk has a real obvious smell)
