My daughter is an only child and I absolutely struggled with being over-protective. I had to stop myself countless times and wasn’t always successful.

I loved being an only child in the 70’s and 80’s. I had a fantastic imagination, and can’t remember being lonely. I read a lot too. I am an introvert, so maybe that helped.

i just grew up alone. both my parents had to work and i have pretty much no family bc im separated from most of them for my safety. I have no cousins my age. i am alone at family reunions.

None of it applies to me. Both parents are only children. We got all the resources, were never bothered, could ever do what WE liked😂. More kids more parental work ... My mum could have a career👍

My only child is extremely empathetic. He’s very caring and sharing as well. The problems I see is, he has trouble dealing with confrontations and tougher situations.
