@peppergrassranch: It was shearing day here at Peppergrass Ranch! We had @TopKnotTyler and his crew here to give all the boys their summer haircuts. Shearing alpacas is vital for their health. Alpacas don’t naturally release their fiber, so they need to be sheared. While getting sheared, they get their teeth trimmed, yearly vaccinations, and their toenails trimmed. Shearing helps alpacas keep cool in the summer. It’s also a great time to closely inspect the alpacas for any health concerns. Shearing keeps lice and mites at bay. They are not harmed whatsoever in the process.
