What people don't grasp is either you tip, or you pay more for your order. One way or another the customer ends up paying. In order to pay people more the cost of goods has to go up.

My boss doesn’t care if I don’t get tipped. He still makes his money and I still have to tip out the kitchen, host, and bar anyway. You’re only punishing me, the server, by not tipping.

Idk. Tips should never be expected. It’s polite and shows gratitude but I don’t think the real problem is not getting tipped. The real problem needing to rely on them.
