try stick other plasters on him he might like the feeling of peeling it off so if u give him more of one he can actually peel off it might stop him focusing on the eye one

my boy was 2 when he had to wear an eye patch and I got a pirate eye patch to put over his bandaid one and we called it pirate time. We played pirates and it was exhausting but it kept his hands busy.

Hi I used to be a paediatric nurse and we use a thin see through dressing called Tegaderm over the IV cannula site. I would recommend using that as a second layer over the eye patch as once applied
