🏊🏼‍♂️🌊🦈MOLOKAI CHANNEL SWIM - March 18th-25th🪼🌋🐳 Apparently swimming a 106km lake makes me a pussy according to @bertkreischer so I’m tackling the ocean next. All jokes aside, I’m excited to take the next step in my ultra swimming career and challenge myself in the open ocean. The Molokai Channel is a 42km stretch between the islands of Molokai and Oahu in Hawaii. I’ll be flying to Hawaii on March 14th for a swim start any day between March 18th-25th (based on what days are the best weather). Although a shorter distance than my Okanagan Lake swim this past summer, the Molokai Channel will be a step up in difficulty due to not being able to wear a wet suit, salt water, currents, and added logistics of dealing with sea creatures like sharks & jelly fish. All these obstacles are the things that excite me. Challenging my will, body, and mind against Mother Nature and the unforgiving wild is what I live for, that burning passion is what drives me to get out of bed every day. I want to be able to inspire and entertain all who care to follow along, and if you’re interested, you’ll be able to follow along live on my Instagram story similar to my Okanagan Lake swim, as well, I am creating a short film on the whole project from travel, prep, swim, and post, which will be released after the swim on my YouTube channel (Nick Pelletier).
