Bought a Toyota new in 2017, 0% APR, paid it off, will keep it for many many more years.

Get a toyota or honda. They maintain the value a little.

If it makes it any better, Carmax buy price is not the real fair market value :)

Should have brought a Honda or Toyota. I drove my Corolla for 13 years 155k miles and just sold it for 50% of what I paid for it

Buying new is the mistake. I bought a 2015 Mercedes ML 350 with 44K miles in 2021 for $25K. That’s how big a difference buying old makes with cars.

Honestly depends what you’re buying - some cars the new ones are cheaper for what you’re buying. Best advice is join a group for the car you want and do the research with real people.

I mean if you buy a Toyota and pay it off in like two years you almost get back what you paid and or even more if it’s a rare color with options

I hated spending $ on a new 4Runner but used was almost as much & then you add higher interest rate on used over Toyotas 0% interest for 60m on a new.. best decision I’ve made on a car 😂

Toyotas would of had some resell but, new will always take the depreciation hit.

Ford focus can go for a long time, mine is at 230k, I've put 120k on it in 5 years. Bought it 5 years ago in school for 4k. Worth every penny

Why are you trying to trade it in if it’s paid off. You don’t need another car. Drive it till the wheels fall off.

I always buy 4 years old, that's the best zone. I bought my 2016 Grand Cherokee for for 16k with 62k miles. it's been 3 years and I haven't spent more than gas.

If you bought a 2017 brand new and still have it in 2024 7 years later this may end up being your best financial decision if you keep it and it continues to be reliable.

Very true. I recently left the finance office when I was about to buy a VW Atlas. The finance mgr asked and recommended me to put gap insurance due the drastic depreciation of the SUV. I immediately

The only thing is used cars with 30-50k miles on it are priced like new cars now. And on top of that any car that’s 2016+ is still being priced as if it’s a new car the markets is insane 😭

You could’ve bought a new Toyota or another different car that doesn’t depreciate as much
