UK homes don’t ‘share’ a fence, you own the border on one side of the garden and the neighbour owns the other. She either replaced your fence without asking, or her fence. Either way you owe nothing.

I’ve done this,.you must talk to the neighbor BEFORE hand! And If the fence is on YOUR property alone and not on the line, don’t expect them to kick in. If it’s on the line, you need permission first
