I’m a nail tech, Iv had people not turn up and there reason is a relative died or was in hospital etc like how can you then charge them for this😂🤷🏼♀️

I had a lady coming to me for over a year, she then suddenly didn’t turn up for a Sunday 7am appointment even after confirming the night before and never spoke to me since. Never responded to me.

I completely respect this and peoples time and wages are precious but I have also had people in the beauty industry cancel on me on the day and also hours before. One time being on the day I got married (I was eloping) and my make up for my sons christening. (The same people will also post on their Instagram story’s 0 tolerance policy for clients not turning up for appointments. However, they regularly cancel themselves on their own clients. Therefore they fail to build a consistent and reliable clientele that loses respect for them) works both ways x

It should work both ways, I’ve had independent masseuses totally mess me about last minute and not being able to offer me a refund. As much as people want customers to support smaller business and self-employed people there needs to be respect applied on both sides….

I cannot stand people that do this I legit send them at Bare Minimum the Deposit then if for whatever reason I can’t attend or don’t turn up I will tell them to keep the Deposit xx

I know a few people around me have a online hooking system where if they want to book they have to pay the £10 £15 deposit and it is non refundable that’s a good idea

I had 3 late cancellations & 1 no call no show on Tuesday. It’s the summer holidays & my son has ASD, arranging childcare for him is hard. I’m so upset over their lack of respect for my time!

I've been going to the same nail girl for years and she's had to go cash only, cos some would say they'd bank transfer then don't or take ages to do it. I wouldn't dare not pay for a service!

I’m a hairdresser and I charge my Clint’s before the service happens and they have to pay what they want then they book so if they don’t come or run of I still get the money

As a counsellor same thing - people will come to session and not pay after - i missed a session my counsellor checked on me not only did I pay for session but also extra for coffee 😅

I try and pay for my appointment ahead, usually on pay day so it’s sorted but then if I don’t go, she has the money and emergencies happen, but she has got costs to cover!
