I highy recommend greenguard muzzles! They shouldnt be able eat out of the sides but arent as restrictive as the ones with the one small hole in the middle

I have the shire’s luxury muzzle, it’s great. I put a fly mask over the top to keep it on. It’s been great for our EMS Welsh 😁

I had one that I think was from horze that was like the green guard but it had a fly mask material on the sides so they could slide it to the side

my boy is on night turnout so no muzzle needed. but the mini at the barn wouldn't drink or eat with it on. full on protest so she gets a dry paddock and 4 hours of grazing in evening

A few people at my yard vet wrapped an extra zip tie to each side of the flexible filly muzzled, attach it to each lowest hole, so they can’t eat out the side like this!

My boy definitely eats out of the side, but it is still slowing him down compared to no muzzle, so I just go with it? He's in his best shape this year so my logic can't be too off?

grass may be too long? mine is fine with hers, i did cut the hole mildly bigger, but with slightly shorter grass it’s easier

I like those flex muzzles because they don’t wear down the teeth but every single horse I’ve seen figures out how to eat out the side 😭

Get a fabric muzzle! I have one for my mini who did the same thing, and there’s just too many straps for her to get her smol nose out of there! It’s also super plush and comfy on the inside for them!

We have these same ones - every horse eats out the side within 1 day lol. We found out instead of shortening the tabs, add a full circle of duct tape low around the circle so she can’t push it open
