I realize this video is going to provoke all kinds of responses whether I’m right or wrong in this situation, especially with the current hot button topic of social media in public spaces! A very big topic of controversy and division. But I wanted to share my side of the story and post this since I post all my highs and Lows and this was quite an experience last night. The whole incident has me scratching my head this morning. 😵‍💫 ok - this is what happened: I was sitting at dinner during live music in a very loud restaurant alone at a table in the corner on a on a live stream, whispering and talking about the hotel. i had been there for a few hours before it even started to get busy. I made VERY sure I was respectful with it and didn’t show anyone at all and was whispering!! A couple was than sat infront of me. It was there choice to sit there as well! It’s a resort restaurant- there’s a massive amount of seating all up and down the deck. Not reserved seats. Anyways - I continued my live stream / which was equivalent of FaceTiming a friend. But, they started turning around and giving me dirty looks and whispering to eachother. It was very noticeable. After getting dirty, looks and exchanges all night I kept my voice down to an appropriate level just as if I had a REAL date like everyone else had. I do live streams a lot at dinner when I’m alone to show off dishes at restaurants and I’ve literally never had a problem. The first catalyst of this whole debacle was about 15 minutes prior to the altercation in this video, when the lady turned around and told me to be quiet very rudely! Like just MEAN and disrespectful!!! As if she was so much better than me and I don’t deserve to be in the same space as her. I actually have this part of it on video as well, since it was a 1 hour 19 minute live stream and I recorded the entire thing! Up until that point no one had been on camera. It was all just me. I was not filming anyone without their consent. After the first run in with them, (which I have on video what she said to me), I go back to my business. they continue to look back and exchanging glances with me as if to say, “we’re warning you”. 15 minutes goes by and all of a sudden I see the lady put her phone on me. THIS IS WHERE THIS VIDEO STARTS!! - NOW - this is when I turn my camera around to show EVERONE on my live stream and make sure I have proof that she’s posting about me. As you can see, she fumbles trying to take pictures of me acting sneaky. I still contain myself and didn’t say anything, but I got that part on camera. And then she tries to take ANOTHER PICTURE with me and I see her making a Facebook post of me with a caption! I actually have a picture of the Facebook post she was writing - I have a screenshot on this from the zoom-in i did in this live. It mentions something about g-z and her right to a peaceful quiet dinner. I’ll post it on my story.
