This is my Iced London Fog Latte with cold foam. It’s perfectly sweet, creamy, and so refreshing. A London Fog is a sweetened Earl Grey tea with milk and vanilla. For this London Fog, I’m using loose tea from Harney & Sons called Victorian London Fog. It’s Victorian since this Earl Grey blend includes lavender. You may be wondering if you can make this drink with cold brew tea, and my answer is no. Milk completely overpowers the subtle cold brew tea flavors, so to bring out both the milk and tea flavors in this drink, you do need to make a strong tea and the only way to do that is by using hot water. A London Fog drink is only made with Earl Grey tea as its base. If you use English Breakfast or any other black tea, the drink is no longer considered a London Fog. To make this drink, I made a tea concentrate, using less water than what I would use to make regular tea. I steep the loose tea for 5 minutes in hot water, then pour the tea into a cup. While the tea is still hot, I stir in a couple of teaspoons of sugar, and add a couple of ice cubes into the drink to quickly cool it down while I make the cold foam. My quick and easy cold foam recipe is to whisk together half & half and sugar using a handheld milk frother. It takes less than a minute for the half & half to double in size. To assemble the drink, add more ice cubes into the cup with the cooled down tea, then pour in the cold foam. Done and done. It’s so good and I know you’ll love it!
