✨you can listen to my full faith journey story on the Wild Grace Podcast in my bio✨ My journey to finding Jesus meant Him leading me out of the LDS church. 🕊️✝️🤍 I grew up Mormon. But when I opened the Bible for myself and read just Jesus’s words—everything shifted. As I studied His words in their cultural context, I realized they didn’t line up with much of what I had been taught. I began to see that the LDS view of God is very different from the God of the Bible. The church claimed to be ‘the one true church’—but what I found in Scripture didn’t reflect that. Jesus wasn’t calling me deeper into religion. He was calling me out of it—so I could find Him. He didn’t say, “Do more. Be worthy. Earn your place.” He said, “Come to Me.” He offers rest, not religion. Relationship, not performance. Grace, not works. I came to see that grace is a gift—not something you earn ‘after all you can do.’ Good works flow from grace, not for it. You don’t climb up to God. Jesus came down to us. 🤍 To my friends who are LDS and quietly wrestling— I see you. Leaving can be disorienting. Rewiring your whole worldview is hard. You may lose relationships, question everything, and wonder what’s real. But please know: That hurt you’ve felt? That wasn’t Jesus. The striving, the shame, the pressure of never being enough? That’s not Him. And the thought that “if this church isn’t true, then nothing is”? That isn’t from Him either. Jesus is still true. Still good. And He still wants you. He is Immanuel—God with us. God in the flesh. He said, “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) And “I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30) In His culture, “Son of God” meant equal with God—same essence. That’s why they tried to stone Him. He was declaring Himself God. He isn’t described in Scripture as a spirit brother, or one of many gods. He is the one true God—who became flesh to rescue us. (John 1:1, 14) And He is enough. If you’re walking away from the LDS church, don’t stop there. Keep walking—toward Jesus. Open the Gospels. The book of John is a great place to start to know who Jesus is and what he’s done for us. Read His words for yourself. Not filtered through religion. Just Jesus. 🤍🕊️✝️
