In Australia you don't even need to tap your card. You save your card in your phone and tap your phone to pay. America needs to catch up

South Africa We tap both Debit and Credit cards. Some shops will want PIN if over a certain amount. Drive thru, the person will hold out the machine. Restaurant, waiters bring machine to the table.

To start. We do have tap pay. But when paying, especially if you’re using credit. Most places don’t require a pin, or give you the option to bypass the pin.

American cards have tap but it’s chip and sign vs chip and PIN in the UK…meaning after you tap you may be required to physically sign but not all vendors require it.

In Canada we tap even drive through or paying bills at the restaurant they bring it to us they don’t take our card
