I work in a daycare/kennel and I have seen and met HUNDREDS of dogs and I have never see a dog guard water, we always talk about how interesting it is that it's the one resource that isnt guarded

we taught my dog boundaries at a young age. and how to avoid conflict. so when another dog is at the dog park, or wherever there's a resource. she waits for them to be done with it. water/ball

Even with my girl she will still start 🔥 with male or female and knowing MY personal dogs I prevent conflict

Had a little elderly toy poodle and a 1 yr old cane corso. The cane corso would sit behind him and wait for him to be done drinking. It was the cutest little water line I’d ever seen🤭

never had resource problems drom water it will always be there however food will be a problem left unsupervised with dominant dogs
