Let's go deeper 👇 1. Trackspacer does frequency-specific sidechaining: signal A (with Trackspacer on it) ducks at the specific frequencies of signal B. It allows you to easily create hierarchy in your mix without—and better than—using lots of EQs and compressors. For example, I usually put Trackspacer on my synths and sidechain them to the vocal, which helps the vocal cut through the mix. 2. Gullfoss does dynamic tonal balancing in a way that optimizes the sound for human perception. The processing seems insanely complex but the plugin is very easy to use. Often the difference seems subtle, but when you bypass the plugin you can hear that it’s night and day! I use it on most busses and I put the mastering version on every master. 3. Oxford Inflator is a legendary cheat code plugin for loudness and clarity. Like Gullfoss, it’s incredibly easy to use and the difference it makes is unbelievable. If you don’t have it already...what are you doing?! 4. Soothe2 has many uses (see my other reels if your curious) but I use it mainly to decrease harshness, which is especially important if you make music that’s designed to be played loud. Essentially, it does the work of dozens of dynamic EQs or multiband compressors with just a few controls.
