They can trim her with scissors but can’t be clipped with clippers as it will mess her hair, yorkies have different hair to most dogs xx

I think my mum was told 6 months to give their adult coat time to develop or it can cause problems with their coat. My mums is a poodle cross though

They normally start with just a wash for puppies so they get used to the process. X

Maybe waiting for her colour to break ? Clipping before can affect the colour and texture in Yorkshire terriers. Xx

They normally do a puppy cut the first time, just like tidy up paws , underneath face etc just to ease them in to grooming but I've never heard that can't do it till a certain age 🙄

Some dog breeds you can’t shave, mine got shaved and 6 years later her coat is still ruined.. all brittle and fluffy looks awful 😫xx

no. my groomer said the sooner the better to get them used to having it done. she starts off small n then Leads up to full trim. never heard there's an age my boy was 12wk (after jabs) for his 1st

Yeah you have to wait till their adult coat comes through before they can be clipped or it can damage her hair growth etc xxx

I’ve a yorkie and couldn’t get him clipped till he was 6 months old, once his thicker coat started to come through, there fur is abit straggly for the first few months. Xxx
