@doulachickenlady86: Let's talk bottle feeding! There is a safe way to do it, so let me show you. Having baby in a more up right position will help avoid choking. Also keeping the bottle level and not tilting it up too much will allot baby to control the flow better. This way they don't get too much at once, making them choke or gulp in extra air. It's also important to pace their feeding. They should take a few suckles, then stop to breathe. If you are noticing that baby isn't taking a break to breathe, take the nipple out of their mouth, give them a break, then restart. Do this as often as you need to until baby starts taking breaks themselves. This also will decrease the amount of air they suck in avoiding Gass issues later. When burping, try different positions and movements to facilitate the movement of the trapped air. Give them a good pat up and down their back as well until they let out at least one burp. Sometimes they burp right away and other times it takes a little extra encouragement. Be patient and over time you will get to know what world best for your baby.
