Havasupai: Everything You Need to Know + Medical Helicopter Back👇🏻   I just got back from the most incredible four day trip & here is everything you need to know about it… the good, bad, the dangerous etc.   Havasupai is located in Arizona and is an oasis in the middle of the Grand Canyon on a reservation. You absolutely NEED permits to go.   Permits: •	$455 for 3 nights •	Pick up your permit the day before at the reservation office •	Applications open Feb 1 OR you can check the cancellations out daily on their website   Getting to/from Havasupai: •	11 (ish) miles to the campground (the village is a few miles before camp) •	Start hiking as early at 4am on the way down. •	To leave, most hikers start hiking at 2am OR 8pm (depending). We did 8pm to have a whole other day there. •	There is NO WATER on trail. So bring at least 3-4 liters.   Camp: •	Campsites run about a mile long. The spots in front are HOT. I recommend going to the back next to the water. These stay shaded & cooler. •	There is a fresh spring for water but its about a mile away depending on campsite.   Food: •	I brought backpacking meals & snacks •	There is a café & small grocery store in village •	HANG YOUR PACKS! There are rats at camp, so make sure to bring a rat sack or bear bin & a carabiner to hang bags •	BRING CASH if you want to try the Frybread   Packing/Don’t Forget: •	Sleeping bag liner! It's too hot for a sleeping bag, so if you run hot, grab a liner. •	Sandals •	Garmin In Reach for Sat Phone (in case of emergencies) •	Extra bladder for water •	ELECTROLYTES •	Hammock or chair for lounging & cards   Helicopter: •	If need be, there is a helicopter that runs Monday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday. •	Most start lining up around 3am. •	Locals go first & it’s a 5 minute ride. •	$100 per person (cash or card) •	Note: you could be waiting here ALL day. So if you can, I recommend hiking up.   Note: my friend is OK! it seems like there is something going around at camp so make sure to bring extra hand sanitizer with you! Multiple people were very under the weather w/ the same symptoms.   LMK If you have any other questions!! #havasupai #havasupaifalls @JJ Trailwalker
