I had one installed on my Audi. Unfortunately, it started leaking whenever I accidentally hit some dead animal already on the road. A regular plug would have been fine

have one on my truck I attach a hose, open it and the oil drains into the waste container. Clean no mess.

oil should be very warm. the vortex effect would not be happening in that small opening, resulting on sludge left in the pan.
