eddison is a fraud!!!! he stole so many designs and claimed them as his own. i doubt he understood 95% of the things he claimed to have made.

Thanks for the info. I'll start saving up for NiFe now. Easiest way to reduce the cost of solar and batteries is to reduce electricity use. A vid on non electric appliances would be cool

gravity batteries and water falls are a better way to do it if you have that much space and it's way cheaper.

They are fairly niche, which is why so few produce them these days. There are better batteries for off-grid living currently being developed, like sodium-ion.

So it’s a better long term investment when living off grid? I wonder how much they are

They're really heavy though.

issue with that type of battery is that it gives a higher voltage output in the beginning and slowly lose the amount making it less applicable in every day use

I mean you don’t get the energy density or maintenance free approach. Nickel iron batteries require regular water/acid top offs and working with potassium hydroxide is fairly dangerous.

except it requires much more maintenace, they produce ALOT of hydrogen (requiring daily venting) needing proper ventilation, a wide voltage window that tends to cause issues with standard inverters...

Durability wise, they are excellent! 👍 Efficiency wise, not really... You only get out less than 65% of the power you put into them.

issues are: 1.2V output, 100W/kh charge and it lasts 30-50 years not 100

When you mean durable are you saying for longevity aka more battery life cycles.
