Aaron would sit closer to Kairi when the three of you hung out. He laughed more at her jokes and looked at her longer than he looked at you. You tried to ignore it, but it hurt. Aaron was your boyfriend. Why did his eyes light up for Kairi in a way they never did for you anymore? You hated how close they had become. You hated the way he smiled at her. Deep down, you knew something was wrong, but you did not want to believe it. One afternoon, after you finished studying at the library, you went back to the classroom to pick up some books you had left in your desk drawer. The hallway was quiet. Most students had already gone home. When you reached the classroom door, it was slightly open. You pushed it gently and stepped inside. What you saw made your heart stop. Aaron and Kairi were standing near the back of the room. Aaron had his arms around her waist, and he was kissing her. Kairi kissed him back, her hands resting on his chest. They looked completely lost in each other. Pain shot through your chest. You could not breathe. Without making a sound, you turned around and left the classroom as quickly as you could. Tears burned in your eyes, but you held them back until you were far away. The next day at school, you ignored both of them completely. Whenever Aaron or Kairi tried to approach you, you walked the other way.

What did we do, Tenshi?" she asked, trying to sound innocent. You looked at her coldly. "Stop pretending, Kairi. I don't want to be friends with you anymore." Kairi's expression changed. She crossed her arms and gave a small shrug. "I love Aaron. I only wanted to be friends with you so I could get close to him." The words hit you hard, but you refused to show it. "Congrats then. He's yours," you said flatly. You walked past her without another word. After school that day, Aaron was waiting for you at the main gate. He looked worried and tired. "Tenshi, I miss you. Why are you avoiding me? What did I do wrong? Tell me. Don't give me the silent treatment," he said, stepping closer. You stopped, pulled out your phone, and showed him the photo you had taken the day before. It clearly showed him kissing Kairi. Aaron's face turned pale. His eyes widened in shock. "We're over, Aaron," you said quietly. "Tenshi, please. I can explain. Please. I love you," he said, his voice full of panic. He reached out as if to grab your hand. You pulled away. "We're over, Aaron. You love Kairi, not me." You turned and walked away, leaving him standing there calling your name. The heartbreak and stress were too much. After school, instead of going home, you found an old, large concrete pipe in the empty lot behind the school grounds. You crawled inside it. It was dark and dusty, but you did not care. You curled up and cried hard, sobbing until your throat hurt and your eyes felt swollen. Time passed. The sky outside grew darker. You still did not want to go home. Then a deep, husky, warm voice broke the silence. "Hey, miss. Is everything okay?" You looked up, surprised. A tall young man was crouching down to look inside the pipe. Even in the dim light, you recognized him immediately. It was Asher Cayden, Kairi's older brother. He had a concerned look on his face. "Are you Kairi's friend?" he asked gently. #characterai #fypシ
