Please hear this promise that I say, when life’s at the end of its rope I promise every single cloud will, in time, cease of rain That the morning sun will surely chase dark shadows all away I swear to offer comfort if I cannot bear your pain I promise to be present until the night evolves to day When apathy begins to numb your sense of self belief And the tomb of silent suffering whispers calls of sweet relief I pledge myself available to hold space without advice And just listen, be, whatever you need to keep you in this life. You’ve conquered every darkest day, and each depressing night You’re strength of will’s inspiring, with your tenacity and spite And I know this fight is tiring, and you deserve some peace and rest But don’t dare believe that if you leave, we’d be better off at last Your tale’s not done, you still have much to weave in this work of art And I won’t let you close the book, before the greatest part When one day we’ll see, you victoriously standing strong atop The mount of demons that you’ve slain, because you didn’t stop.
