@saltymammals: LET ME EXPLAIN ‼️👇🏽 You'd think I would have learned my lesson from the last video when I nearly blacked out at my first freediving competition. 😣 Guess again! Just before this competition I got sick again, this time with the flu. I spent 5 days trying to get better, but still showed up at the competition feeling fatigued and under the weather. I attempted a 155 metre (508 feet) swim underwater, a dive that I had done many times in training. With my body still trying to fight sickness, the dive didn't go to plan. Upon surfacing from the water I tried desperately to get fresh oxygen into my body. 😮‍💨 Unfortunately, I didn't recover fast enough and despite my coach @tashmaw yelling at me to breathe, my brain shut down and I became unconscious, sinking back into the water. 🫠 Luckily the competition safety diver came to the rescue, pulling me back to the surface and preventing me from drowning.
